Biography
Leopold holds a MSc in physics from ETH Zurich and spent his Ph.D. at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, studying the synthesis and electronic properties of atomically precise graphene nanoribbons through atomistic simulations. Following a postdoctoral fellowship on electronic structure theory at the University of York, he joined EPFL to help build the open-science platform of the MARVEL NCCR and to adapt it for nanoporous materials, where he has been responsible for numerous aspects of the deployment, features and architecture of the platform. He has co-authored 19 scientific publications and 2 book chapters.
