Biography
Frank Alexander has been the Deputy Director of the Computational Science Initiative at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory since 2017. Prior to that Frank was at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 20 years where he held several leadership roles, including with the Computer, Computational and Statistical Sciences Division and the Information Science and Technology Institute. Frank’s research interests include optimal design of experiments, computational physics, and nonequilibrium statistical mechanics. He has led many research projects including as PI of the ExaScale Computing Codesign Center for Machine Learning (ExaLearn).
