Joost VandeVondele, CSCS

Dr. Joost VandeVondele is associate director and head of the scientific software and libraries unit at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center at ETH Zurich. He leads a group of 30 software engineers that develops and modernizes libraries and software tools to enable scientific applications to run at scale on different hardware architectures. The applications cover a wide range of scientific domains, including numerical weather and climate, neuroscience, fluid dynamics, atomistic & materials science, linear algebra and programming models. His group has close collaborations with scientists in Switzerland and world-wide.
