Networked HPC Storage from Cray to the Element
We discuss current HPC storage systems and the demands they place on the data network. We speculate on how these demands will change and what will be required of the storage system and the network fabric to meet future challenges. We argue the need to use a high performance object store with a highly optimized data path. We present current work and outline the direction being taken in a proof-of-concept.
