Biography
Deegan is the SKA Observatory’s Computing Infrastructure Lead and has been working on the SKA project for over seven years. His role entails overseeing the design, procurement and eventual operation of a number of HPC/Cloud platforms. These platforms will
produce multi-exabytes of data for users of what will be one of the 21st century’s leading global science infrastructures when the observatory comes into full operation in the second half of this decade.
He has worked in the ICT industry, mainly in HPC and cloud computing, for over 25 years in a number of roles in both the public and private sectors. Miles holds BSc and DPhil degrees in chemical physics from the University of Sussex, UK.
